The Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) is a parastatal organization affiliated with the government of Tanzania. It was created by an act of the Parliament of Tanzania in 1986 as a successor to the Tanzania National Scientific Research Council. The Commission is a subsidiary institution to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. Main offices are located in Dar es Salaam

COSTECH ANNOUNCES AND AWARDS THE JOINT RESEARCH PROJECT WINNERS

The Commission for Science and Technology(COSTECH) has awarded 15 Research Project Winners Cheques amounting 472,892,900/=Tshs in the occasion held at its headquarters Kijitonyama Sayansi Area Dar es salaam.The research project winners who received the Cheques are  from University of Dar es salaam,Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, National Institute of Medical Research and Nelson Mandela Institute of Science and Technology.Others  are Sokoine university of Agriculture Tropical Pesticides Research Institute and St Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences

COSTECH Director of Finance and Administration Mr. Shaaban Hussein (with a black suit) takes a look at the power point presentation during the Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) workshop. The setting up of the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) in Tanzania is one of the  strategy to put in place facilities that would give researchers and technology developers access to all technical information available in patent documents as well as to scientific journals.
