The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology from Uganda had a three day official visit to Tanzania with the objective of benchmarking and sharing experience on the development and utilization of ICT in Tanzania. During their tour, the delegation also had a chance of visiting the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) and its autonomous entity Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi) at Sayansi Kijitonyama area in Dar es salaam. The delegation visit aimed at sharing the  technological experiences in ICT.

COSTECH Acting Director General Dr Frola Ismail Tibazarwa prepares a brief presentation about different COSTECH activities. Concentrating on is the Permanent Secretary of the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communications Technology Dr Jimmy Pat Saamaya.

Permanent Secretary of the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Dr Jimmy Pat Saamaya expains different roles of his ministry .He said  the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology  which was established in June 2006 has a mandate of providing strategic and technical leadership, overall coordination, support and advocacy on all matters of policy, laws, regulations and strategy for the ICT sector. It also ensures sustainable, efficient and effective development; harnessing and utilization of ICT in all spheres of life to enable the country achieve its national development goals.

The Acting COSTECH Director General Dr Frola Ismail Tibazarwa hands over a special  gift to the Permanent Secretary of the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communications Technology Dr Jimmy Pat Saamaya.

The Principal Economist from the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology    Mr Hannington Ashaba admires a gift from the COSTECH Acting Director General Dr Frola Ismail Tibazarwa as a sign of showing friendship between Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology(COSTECH) and the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communications Technology 

Mr Silas Ngabirano from the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communications Technology also received a gift from COSTECH.
