The Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) and Dar Teknohama Business Incubator
(DTBi) have the pleasure of inviting all interested entrepreneurs and others to a Public Seminar
titled, ”The Mindset of the Silicon Valley Entrepreneur: Lessons for the Tanzania
Entrepreneur/Innovator” to be held on 26th February, 2014. This seminar is organized by
COSTECH and DTBi and is to be presented by Mr. Carl Davis Jr., from San Jose, California, USA. He
is the President/Executive Director of the Silicon Valley Black Chamber of Commerce in
California, USA. Mr. Davis Jr. brings a rare mix of over 20 years of business management and
leadership skills pertinent for teaching entrepreneurship. His business and professional career
spans both the public and private sectors along with for profits and non-profits; having worked
for such large corporations as General Motors, IBM and Morgan Stanley, he is the first Executive
Director for the Black Economic Council in Oakland. His accomplishment include being elected
to the President’s White House Council on Small Business and also got awarded City of San Jose
contract to teach entrepreneur and small business training. The Seminar will take place in the
COSTECH Conference Room Ground Floor, COSTECH Building, Sayansi, Kijitonyama, on the
26th of February, 2014 from 2:30pm – 4:30 p.m. The session is about understanding the role of
Innovation and entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley and how we in Tanzania can leverage off that
