The KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Programme is an internationally renowned health
research programme that is committed to research capacity development in the
East African Region. Several Ph D Studentship positions commencing in August
2009 are available at our Kilifi site. These studentships will provide an
opportunity for East Africans to carry out their Ph D studies within a high
quality research environment under the supervision of internationally
renowned researchers.
Ph D studentships are available in the following areas:
1. Molecular biology of malaria parasites (3 studentships)
2. Immunology of malaria and HIV (2 studentships)
3. Modelling malaria epidemiology (1 studentship)
4. Social science and ethics (1
studentship)
Internship Opportunities
Applications are invited from East Africans (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda
and Burundi) who have completed at least a Bachelors degree and achieved an
upper second or first class in Biological sciences (e.g. zoology and
biochemistry), health sciences (e.g. medicine, pharmacy and nursing), Maths
and statistics, social science, and anthropology.
