Invitation for Full research proposal to women on upscaling of Research Results

COSTECH has received funds from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, United Kingdom (UK-FCDO) through the Science Granting Councils Initiatives (SGCIs) to support projects in strengthening capacity of Tanzanian female researchers from Research & Development (R&D), and Higher Learning (HL) institutions in the management of Research projects. In this regards, COSTECH call for proposals specific for women researchers who wants to upscale their research results in the area of food security.
Food Security is among the priority area of National Five years Development Plan (FYDP III) that encourages the society to scale up the production of food and nutrients to lessen the prevalence of associated health burdens. However, food security remains a major challenge to many communities in Tanzania. This is being supported by the recent report on Integrated Food security (IPC). Report indicates that, 20% out of a population of 4.8 million in 16 analyzed districts of Tanzania experience severe food insecurity driven by a prolonged dry spell and erratic rainfall in the planting season leading to decreased production (IPC, 2020) and /or lack of resources to obtain food.
